On behalf of ScholarshipsCanada we want to congratulate 14 outstanding recipients of the Bill 7 Award for LGBTQ+ community.

The Bill 7 Award Trust was established in 1987 to provide post-secondary education scholarships LGBTQ+ students who are pursuing a first degree in any Ontario post-secondary institution and are in financial need.

In 2018 due to outstanding support of the local community and beneficiaries, the Bill 7 Award was able to raise more funds and award 14 scholarships instead of 12. All the recipients are young outstanding individuals who are active members of their community and show their contribution to the improvement of the LGBTQ+ community in Ontario.

"Hi! My name is Ava Truthwaite, I'm a second-year queer Indigenous student at the University of Toronto, majoring in the Ethics, Society & Law program. Being a recipient of the Bill 7 Award is helping me fund my undergraduate studies, which are guiding me towards a career in international human rights law. I am passionate about ethics, journalism, intersectional feminism, dogs, and also anything caffeinated."
