ScholarshipsCanada would like to congratulate all winners of the Grade 12 Essay Contest in 2018!

Credit Canada has helped millions of Canadians overcome debt problems and improve their personal money management skills for over 50 years. Now with Credit Education Week Canada, the non-profit organization is helping students specifically with various themed contests.

In 2018 students were invited to confess their contained financial calamity story by answering to a question “What Was the Dumbest Thing You Ever Did With Your Money?” in the essay format. Prizes ranged from $500 to the grand prize of $5,000.

Jack Zhang, the grand prize winner, wrote his essay about the time he had gotten some bad advice from a bank advisor, and ended up paying monthly expenses for an audiobook he wasn’t even reading. Despite his mishap, Jack ended up winning a whopping $5,000 towards his post-secondary education! See Jack's winning essay here.
