Biomedical Engineering BEng or MEng

Between years two and three, you'll gain real professional experience with a work placement at the National Health Service (NHS) or one of our industry partners.

As a biomedical engineer, you'll help develop and design diagnostic and therapeutic instruments for use in hospitals, labs, and care homes.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry BSc or MSci

You'll also take part in a work placement with a local organization or laboratory, giving you valuable industry experience and connections in the field.

As a pharmaceutical chemist, you'll work with doctors and medical engineers to develop and test novel drugs and treatments for a range of illnesses. You may even work on an eventual treatment for COVID-19!

Medical and Clinical Biochemistry BSC or MSci

If you want all the facts about medicine and human biology, this is the degree for you. You'll study molecular biology, chemistry, and immunology — an important topic as the world faces a deadly new disease. You'll learn in practical labs, workshops, and online.

At your option, you can take a year for an industry placement with one of Middlesex University's many partners, or take part in a work experience module to boost your chances of employment.

As a Medical or Clinical Biochemist, you could work in public or private hospitals and clinics, or in pharmaceutical or biotech firms. Your skills will also be highly desirable at research institutions — you'll have many paths to explore as you pursue your BSc or MSci in Medical or Clinical Biochemistry!
