$10,000 Scholarships

Each year, Duck Tape runs a contest for high school students to create prom dresses and tuxedos out of the company's colourful and sticky products. The designers of the best dress and the best tux each win a prize of $10,000.

Despite the pandemic and restrictions on in-person prom ceremonies, the scholarship contest saw a near-record amount of entries. 355 students designed and submitted incredible creations for the contest.

2020 Stuck at Prom - Dress Winnter: Peyton Manker

Peyton worked for nearly 400 hours (that's ten weeks at a full-time job!) and used over 40 rolls of tape to create her incredibly colourful prom dress, which celebrates those on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

Peyton went the extra step, too, creating duct tape shoes, handbag, and jewelry, topping it off with a matching mask. She was inspired by the world's response to the pandemic. Kudos to Peyton for her amazing work.

2020 Stuck at Prom - Dress Winnter: Ashton Cordisco

Ashton's three-piece tuxedo took over 80 hours to produce from 27 rolls of tape, and features bright, iconic designs ripped from the work of artists throughout history. From Andy Warhol to Piet Mondrian, Ashton's bold tux stands out, with flaring colours and patterns.

Ashton's tux even features an uncanny mask that totally fits the vibe of his tux. He took inspiration from his art teacher who helped him decide on a career in design. Fantastic work, Ashton!
