One of the biggest factors of deciding where to go to school is how much it will cost. At the University of Calgary, we want to help decrease your financial stress so that you can enjoy our amazing academics, superb student life, relaxing residences, resounding research, and much more. To help you out, we’ve got $17 million in scholarships, bursaries, and awards that are available annually.

Discover your potential costs

How can you plan for your education when you don’t know how much it’ll cost? At UCalgary, you won’t have to. With our Undergraduate Cost Estimator, you’ll get an estimate of how much your first year of university may cost. You can even choose to include the cost of textbooks and supplies as a first-year student!

To get your estimated cost, all you need to do is select your citizenship, faculty, your year of study, if you’ll live on campus, and if you intend to have a meal plan. Simple! Thanks to this easy process, you’ll be given an estimated cost for tuition, general fees, books and supplies, residence and meal plans, and even how much you might spend on your personal shopping (clothing, haircuts, entertainment, hobbies, recreation, etc).

Scholarship name Award value Award description
Schulich Leader Scholarship $20,000 - $25,000 (Renewable) Two awards are offered annually to domestic undergraduate students entering their first year of an eligible STEM program. The awards are renewable in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year provided recipients continue to be enrolled in an eligible STEM program and meet all renewal criteria. The $25,000 scholarship is for students entering the Schulich School of Engineering, and the $20,000 scholarship is for students entering an eligible non-Engineering Science, Technology, or Mathematics program.
Chancellor’s Scholarship $15,000 (Renewable) This award is offered annually to a domestic high school student entering first year in any undergraduate faculty. It’s renewable in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year provided recipients maintain a normal full course load (of 30 units or more) and a minimum grade point average of 3.60 in the previous fall/winter terms. Students are expected to continue their involvement in activities outside the classroom and contribute to school and/or community life.
Ena Lee Leaders in Business Scholarship $20,000 (Renewable) This award is offered annually to a domestic undergraduate student entering the Haskayne School of Business Bachelor of Commerce degree program. It’s renewable in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year provided recipients achieve a minimum GPA of 3.20 over a minimum of 30.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms.
Leader in Health Sciences Scholarship $15,000 (Renewable) This award is offered annually to domestic high school students entering first year in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at the Cumming School of Medicine. It’s renewable in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year provided recipients maintain a normal full course load (of 30 units or more) and a minimum grade point average of 3.40 in the previous fall/winter terms. Students are expected to continue their involvement in activities outside the classroom that are part of the BHSc academic program. In addition to the value of the award, recipients are guaranteed admission to the MD program upon completion of the BHSc program, subject to the conditions set forth by the Cumming School of Medicine.
UCalgary International Entrance Scholarship $15,000 (Renewable) This award is offered annually to international undergraduate students entering first year in any undergraduate degree in the upcoming fall term who have satisfied the university's English Language Proficiency requirement. It’s renewable in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year provided recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student.
