So, if you’ve done well in high school, then you may be eligible for some financial aid.

Are you eligible for a UVic entrance scholarship?

First things first, you need to know whether you qualify for an entrance scholarship. As a student who’ll be entering from a Canadian high school, you must normally be:

  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • An international student completing a Canadian secondary school diploma
  • Entering your first year of an undergraduate degree program
  • A current secondary school student (or a student who’s graduated high school within the last two years and has not attended a post-secondary institution)
  • Admitted to UVic and have a minimum admission average of 90% or a minimum of 32 International Baccalaureate points

Pretty simple, right? Now for the part you really want to know — what scholarships could you earn?

Available entrance scholarships and awards

There are two types of entrance scholarships available at UVic: entrance scholarships based on admission average and entrance scholarships based on admission average and other criteria.

Entrance scholarships based on admission average

These are the easiest scholarships to apply for because they require no application at all! All you need to do to be considered for these awards is to self-report your grades in early March. What this means is you’ll need to submit your final grade 11 marks as well as your interim grade 12 marks. Your self-reported marks are used to determine early scholarship offers, and your scholarship offer will be finalized once your official final grades are submitted. Keep in mind, if you don’t self-report your grade 12 marks, then you won’t be eligible for any entrance scholarships based on admission average. All UVic entrance scholarships require a minimum of 90% high school admission average.
