The COVID-19 pandemic is still causing a host of cancellations and unexpected events and changes worldwide. During this time, the levels of uncertainty regarding college enrollment are abounding. Recently, some United States colleges and universities have decided that they will not be opening for residential courses in the Fall 2020 semester.

On July 14, 2020, the U.S. government announced that international students may remain in Student Status even if they are enrolled completely online for the upcoming term. However, this leaves international students hoping to attend residentially and receive the full college experience with limited options.

International students in the United States

During this time, international students who are currently in the United States are faced with tough choices:

1. Stay within the United States but take only online courses and miss out on the college experience they originally came to the U.S. to receive and be responsible for food, housing, and other daily amenities typically provided by their college or university.

2. Put their residential education on hold and travel back to their home country and wait until their college or university begins residential courses again.

3. Transfer to another college or university that is open and intending to have residential courses in the Fall 2020 semester.

These choices are tough for college students to make, given the current state of the world and the fast-approaching start to the Fall 2020 semester. Many students are uncertain where they will be in the coming weeks and how they will be taking college courses.

Liberty University fully open for Fall 2020

Thankfully, Liberty University is planning to open fully in the Fall 2020 semester and will have normal on-campus courses for both domestic and international students. This means that international students who attend Liberty University will not have to worry about the options above and can instead concentrate on what is important, their education.

Liberty plans to fully abide by Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and host courses and residential students for all programs that are offered. This includes open dormitories for residential students to live in, as well as on-campus dining, transportation, and other amenities that college students use throughout the year. Not too late to apply

Keep in mind, this doesn't mean that you can't transfer back to your college or university once they begin hosting residential courses again. It simply means that you now have a current option to attend residential classes in the United States and gain the college experience you desire at one of the most exciting universities in the country.
