Explore what it takes to become an animator, concept artist, or illustrator.

In some ways, there has never been a better time to start a new career in a creative industry. The animation and gaming industries are skyrocketing due in part to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the North American comic book industry recorded an all-time high in 2019. So if you've been dreaming about entering the dynamic field of animation, concept art or illustration, now is the perfect time to go after that dream!

Max the Mutt College of Animation, Art and Design

Max the Mutt College of Animation, Art and Design opened in 1996. Started by a dedicated group of animators and artists, our focus has always been to mentor the new generation coming into the industry to be best prepared for a lifelong career, not just the latest job on the market. We value each student as an individual which starts right from the application process where we get to know you, and help guide you in the best direction for your success.

Our classes have moved online for this fall, and so have our Open Houses! Join us at one of our upcoming weekend information sessions to learn how our small class sizes, innovative and industry-driven curriculum, and top-notch instructors have got industry raving that our students are "amazing, inventive and technically brilliant" (Nelvana Ltd), "the professionals any studio would want" (Keyframe Digital Productions), and "some of our industry's best talents" (Ubisoft).

At our Open House, you'll have a chance to hear from our program coordinators, get a tour of the school with current students, and speak with our admissions counselor and other staff who are happy to answer any questions you may have about applying, school life, portfolio requirements, and more. We also invite you to take part in our FREE art workshops with one of our instructors — all you need is a pencil and paper to participate!

The entire event is free, but our workshops have limited space, so sign up soon!
