Guaranteed and renewable scholarships
TMU recognizes academic achievement with over $4 million specifically for entrance scholarship support. Will some of this cash be yours?
If you’re an international student (on a study visa) attending and completing your high school studies at a Canadian secondary school, you may be eligible for a guaranteed and renewable entrance scholarship! This means that if you achieve a final average of 86% or above and maintain this throughout your undergraduate studies, you’ll earn some money towards your tuition each year.

Prestigious entrance awards
These entrance scholarships are for the best of the best! If you’ve demonstrated academic excellence, leadership skills, commitment to volunteer work and extracurricular activities, original thought, and creative ability, then these may be the scholarships for you!
There are three prestigious entrance awards you can apply for:
President’s Entrance Scholarship
Value of award: $40,000 total or $10,000 annual amount (renewable)
Number of awards: 12
The President’s Entrance Scholarship is awarded to high school graduates who’ve demonstrated academic accomplishment, leadership qualities, original thought, and creative ability. To apply, you’ll need a minimum 90% final average from high school, and you must submit an essay or project summary such as creative writing or any creative project you’ve done, two letters of reference, and a list of your leadership activities from your last two years of high school.

International Secondary School Merit Scholarship
Value of award: $5,000
Number of awards: 7
The International Secondary School Merit Scholarship is awarded to international students entering their first year of a full-time, four-year undergraduate program. You should demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to volunteer and extracurricular activities, and leadership skills. To apply, you’ll need a minimum 85% final average and must submit a personal statement.
International Student Winter Merit Scholarship
Value of award: $5,000
Number of awards: 2
If you’re an international student entering your first year of a full-time, four-year undergraduate program for the winter term in January 2023, then this award is for you! To be eligible, you must excel in your academics, demonstrate a commitment to volunteer work and extracurricular activities, and show leadership skills.

| Salad King Awards (Salad King On-Campus Student Leader Award; Salad Kind Off-Campus Community Builder Award; Salad King Personal Development Award; and the Salad King Excellence in Mentoring Award) | The Salad King International Student Awards were created by Mr. Ernest and Mrs. Linda Liu, owners of the popular Salad King restaurant. This award is given to an international student who has demonstrated a strong leadership to improving the quality of student experience at Toronto Metropolitan University.

| Scotiabank International Scholarships | This scholarship was established in 2001 with support from the Bank of Nova Scotia (Scotiabank) to enhance and contribute to the cultural and ethnic diversity of TMU and the greater Toronto communities.
