We all know that scholarships are a great way to help cover the costs of university. They're also a great way to celebrate academic achievement — but did you know that not all scholarships are based on your grades? At Wilfrid Laurier University, we award scholarships based on your admission average but also on other criteria, like your achievements and contributions outside of the classroom. And most of our scholarships are stackable, meaning you can receive more than one and watch the values add up!

Entrance scholarships

The good news: You're automatically considered for an entrance scholarship; no application required. The better news: This scholarship is renewable. The best news: It's worth a minimum of $5,000 CAD!

This scholarship is stackable with other scholarships, except the President's Gold Scholarship.

The President's Gold Scholarship

The President's Gold Scholarship, worth $6,000 CAD, is awarded to students with an entrance average of 95% or higher. You're automatically considered for this entrance scholarship (no application required) and bonus, this one is renewable in your upper years if you meet the renewal requirements.

This scholarship is stackable with other scholarships, except entrance scholarships.

In-course scholarships

Entrance scholarships and the President's Gold Scholarship are renewable, based on your grades from the previous academic year. This means you could get a minimum of $5,000 CAD in each of your upper years at Laurier, because we know scholarships are important for every year of study, not just your first year.

Inspiring Lives: International student scholarships

Exclusive to international students beginning their studies at Laurier, the Inspiring Lives Scholarship is worth up to $5,000 CAD and recognizes students who inspire lives of leadership and purpose. A separate application is required.

Competitive scholarships and awards

These scholarships and awards require an application, but you don't need to apply for each one individually. Instead, you can apply for all applicable scholarships at once by submitting a student profile with more information about yourself. The information you provide — including your interests, community involvement, financial need and more — is used to award these scholarships, which range in value from $250 to $5,000 CAD.

International undergraduate tuition guarantee

Planning for the cost of your entire education at Laurier is important. That's why we guarantee that, once admitted, our international undergraduate tuition will not increase by more than 5% between years of study. This will help you plan your budget for each academic year.
