IE University - Responding to digital disruption: how incumbents are fast-forwarding innovation to become digital

Disruption seems to be the word of the day. New business models are emerging not only in the famous Silicon Valley, but also in many new startup heavens, that challenge the incumbents of almost any industry to push forward in their efforts for innovation. How are the best companies reacting? What are the likes of Inditex, Ikea, BBVA, Ping An, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Daimler, AMC Fruits or Decathlon doing to gain relevance and speed in this crazy times? Why is everybody talking about them? We will analyze what platform business model innovation has done to many industries, and explore the cases of those companies not only surviving, but thriving to the challenge of the new players. This talk has been developed with the insights gained by collaborating with these institutions, their partners or associates. Industry examples will include Retail, Manufacturing, Banking, Insurance, Food Production, Fashion, High Tech and Automotive.
