Applying for scholarships is part of college life for most students. It can be a stressful process, but it doesn’t have to be if you are strategic about it!

Know what makes you unique

Do you have some impressive work or volunteer experience? Any interesting or unique skills or hobbies? Recognize your strengths and what sets you apart from other applicants. Odds are you’ll find some specific scholarships you may be uniquely qualified for.

Build your scholarship resumé

Some scholarships ask you to send in your resumé to learn more about your qualifications for scholarship consideration.

If you have already chosen a career path or have an idea of the program you’d be interested in, now’s the time to build your relevant work and volunteer experience to qualify for program and career-specific scholarships.

Interested in Journalism? Join or start a school newsletter or yearbook. Want to study Management? Figure out what delicious recipes you can come up with and make them go viral on social media.
