Description:

The Community Capacity Building (CCB) Citation is a unique program for students with lived experience in hands-on community work.

Create a positive impact in your community

The program itself is two community development courses - CLSC 100 — Introduction to Community Development and CLSC 105 — Foundation Skills in Community Development - completed over eight months (April - September).

There are two ways to take the program. The online cohort is open to learners across Canada and is one three-hour evening session per week, plus weekly activities and readings.

The in-person cohort, which takes place at Ts?zil Learning Centre, is exclusively for Lil’wat Nation members. It consists of two 2-hour sessions per week.

The program is ideal for community-engaged people who are seeking practical skills and theoretical knowledge in social change.

It's a great choice for community workers and volunteers, people involved with Indigenous organizations, non-profits, municipalities and informal community groups.

The CCB is also a good option for current CapU students who are looking to enhance their bachelor's degree with a citation credential. Courses in the CCS can count as electives.

As part of the program, you'll also engage with the extended CCB network through partnerships with organizations including the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC, Vancouver Foundation, and Lil’wat First Nation.
