Software engineering goes beyond programming. It’s about developing, writing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software systems. It’s the foundation of all computer systems. In other words, our digital world depends on software engineering. In UNB’s Software Engineering program, you’ll learn how to develop and maintain reliable, safe, affordable, and efficient software systems that satisfy customer requirements. You’ll also gain the skills and knowledge needed to work on large and expensive software systems that often have safety-critical applications.

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
One additional senior-level course is required. Students offering less than 70% in high school Chemistry, Physics and senior-year Mathematics may have to take additional courses. Students should note that two years each of high school Chemistry and Physics will normally be required; students lacking these courses will be considered on an individual basis. It is recommended that students who have not taken any mathematics courses for more than two years take MATH 1863 Precalculus before attempting MATH 1001 or MATH 1003. Students with less than 75% in each of the PRECALCA120 and PRECALCB120 (or equivalent) may want to consider taking MATH 1863 Precalculus before attempting MATH 1001 or MATH 1003.
