Admission Requirements

Test Scores:
  • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 550] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based)
Additional Admission Requirements:
  • Portfolio

Portfolio

To complete your application, submit a compelling PDF portfolio showcasing your creative talent and design potential. All submissions must be formatted using the official portfolio template provided here: How to create a portfolio tutorial.

  • Your portfolio must contain three distinct pieces of your original creative work.
  • Digital Design Requirement (1 Piece):

One of your three pieces must be a digital design, demonstrating familiarity with industry-standard tools and digital-first thinking. Choose from:

  • Custom logo design
  • Poster art
  • Web design (mockup or live site)
  • Animation (motion or 3D)
  • Additional Creative Work (2 Pieces):

The remaining two pieces can be selected from a wider range of mediums, allowing you to showcase the breadth of your creative expression. Consider including:

  • Illustrations or drawings
  • Collage work
  • Album art
  • Package design
  • Advertising and promotional materials
  • Any other visual art that demonstrates your creative process and technical skill

Description & Process:

For each of the three submitted pieces, you must include a short, focused description (no more than 150 words) that provides context and insight into your work. Be sure to address the following three points:

  1. Artwork Description: Briefly explain what the piece is.
  2. Purpose/Goal: What was the intent of the project? What problem were you trying to solve, or what message were you trying to convey?
  3. Learning Outcome or Result: What did you learn while creating this piece, or what was the final impact/result?

While not a requirement, we highly encourage you to include supporting process materials for your three pieces (e.g., sketches, concept notes, thumbnails, mood boards). Seeing your process helps us understand your creative thinking and problem-solving journey.
