| Field of Study: | Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology
|
| Description: | If designers provide the conceptual base, we need technicians to realize the vast array of production details. Costumes need to be fabricated, props constructed, sets built and installed on stage, lighting instruments serviced, rigged and focused, sound tracks recorded and computerized, and speakers placed and functioning. Stage managers, production managers, technical directors and technicians coordinate and run the show.
Our program teaches students the essential skills required to work in today’s theatre industry as well as associated careers in television, cinema, video and mixed media. Technicians develop their skills with theoretical and practical courses leading to extensive hands-on production experience with at least six major productions |
