Mathematics is a powerful problem-solving tool and a highly creative field of study. Explore diverse phenomena such as the human nervous system, the evolution of life forms and the stock market. In the Mathematics and Its Applications degree program, you'll learn to find patterns using logic, clear principles, and imagination, and will complete a thesis project. An optional paid co-op, options in Computer Science and Economics, and an optional specialization in Management Sciences, will help you gain the knowledge, experience and problem-solving skills needed to find solutions in a variety of fields.

  •  Grade12 Advanced Functions 
  •  Grade12 Biology  or  Grade12 Chemistry  or  Grade12 Physics 
  •  Grade12 Calculus and Vectors  or  Grade12 Mathematics of Data Management 

Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%, and the following required Grade 12 U courses (minimum grade of 70% in each):

  • English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
  • Advanced Functions (MHF4U)
  • One of Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) or Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U)
  • One of Physics (SPH4U) (recommended), Chemistry (SCH4U), Biology (SBI4U)

Applicants not educated in Ontario must submit evidence of education equivalent to the OSSD with six Grade 12 U or M courses.
