| Description: | This course is designed for those who don't have the qualifications needed for the BSc/MSci Physics, but who demonstrate scientific potential through good passes in GCSE Mathematics and Science or workplace experience. In the preliminary year you will study mathematics, physics and gain a good grounding in scientific study skills. You will then be ready to join the BSc Physics degree.
Year one gives you a comprehensive grounding in physics and mathematics, and year two focuses on the principles of physics. Flexibility and choice are key features of a Bristol Physics degree, and you may be able to transfer between courses in the first two years of the BSc. Your final year includes a major project or dissertation. Project options include the Physics Education scheme, centred on teaching in a school, and the Industrial Group Project, based on a real problem set by industrial partners. Recent partners include Sellafield, Bristol Zoo, Siemens and The Fat Duck.
