| Description | The PhD in International Education and Development gives you the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in the field of development and education and to hone advanced research skills in methodologies appropriate for contexts in low-income countries.
Our doctoral researchers come from all over the world and this PhD will help advance your professional career.
Doctoral researchers will become members of the Centre for International Education (CIE), a global leader in this field, and will be based in the Department of Education, located in the School of Education and Social Work.
Your supervisors are generally members of CIE and are global in outlook. They all share an understanding that education lies at the heart of development and poverty reduction. Their research interests include conflict and peace-building, refugee education, gender justice, critical pedagogies, inclusion, governance and global education policy.
You will have opportunities to engage with other research centres in the School and across the University and to work in international and interdisciplinary ways. | | |
