Current high school students 

Grade 12 students can apply for conditional admission based on their final Grade 11 and/or interim Grade 12 marks by uploading their most recent grades (e.g., unofficial transcript or a report card) through EducationPlannerBC. Final admission depends on high school graduation and meeting the specific requirements of the program. 

Note: Applicants from B.C high schools must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS) as soon as possible.

Description

Looking to bring your creative vision to life on screens large and small? Capilano University’s eight-month Documentary Certificate program is for you.  

In the Documentary Certificate program, you'll build the skills to produce, direct, write and edit documentaries or specialized productions under award-winning filmmakers' mentorship. 

You'll understand how production cycles work, from story concept and development to pre-production, production, post-production, distribution, and marketing phases. 

We're meeting the needs of emerging documentary filmmakers in a rapidly changing industry. Join the many grads who have gone on to make award-winning films and work in various entry-level roles, from research to post-production to producing community television.
