| Description | The postpartum doula is committed to the belief that support and care of a new mother and her family during the early postpartum weeks has long-term beneficial effects on the mothers physical and mental health and on her confidence and competence as a parent. By mothering the new mother at this critical time, the postpartum doula helps to strengthen the entire family unit.
Research evidence shows that the quality services of a Postpartum Doula can ease the transition that comes with the addition of a baby to a family, improve parental satisfaction and reduce the risk of mood disorders. | | |
