| Description | This 4 year degree will follow the same course structure as the Marine Biology BSc. In the 4th year you will specialise and carry out a substantial research project. You will be able to work in a staff member's research group and will gain valuable research experience of working in a research environment.
Marine Biology is the study of organisms that inhabit 95% of our planet's biosphere, thriving in environments as diverse as polar seas below -2℃ and hydrothermal vents exceeding 100℃. As we become increasingly aware of the importance of marine organisms in climate regulation, food sources, medicine, and other products, this field of study becomes ever more crucial. The oceans are home to the majority of the world's species, from the smallest microorganisms to the largest invertebrates like giant squid and mammals such as the blue whale. This popular course allows you to explore the fundamental aspects of marine biology, as well as specialised areas like aquaculture, fisheries, and marine biotechnology. | | |
