Students with strong background in disciplines other than economics may be admitted as qualifying students to give them an opportunity to strengthen their economics background. You must have a CGPA of 2.75 to apply to co-op. Anyone who applies with a CGPA below 2.75 will be denied for now, and encouraged to re-apply to co-op once their CPGA increases to 2.75 or above. New students who don't yet have an SFU CGPA may apply, but please note that ALL students have to have a CGPA of 2.75 in order to do a co-op job search.

DescriptionCo-operative Education is an optional program that integrates degree-relevant, paid work experience with academic study. MA Economic students who participate in Co-op will have the opportunity to apply newly developed skills in a practical context, while building a network of professional contacts. The SFU Co-operative Education preparatory curriculum prepares students for learning in the workplace by providing students with the skills, knowledge and tools necessary for the transition between the classroom and the workplace. Students also learn valuable self-marketing skills, how to write effective resumes and cover letters, and develop enhanced interview skills. One-on-one support is available from Co-op staff and students gain access to exclusive Co-op postings that begin in summer (May to August).
