Exploring the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway at Sheridan

Jobs in the health sciences are in high demand in Canada. Roles like licensed practical nurses, paramedics, physician assistants, medical laboratory technologists, and more, are at a "strong risk of shortage" in Canada in the coming years, according to data collected by Employment and Social Development Canada.

That's where Sheridan comes in, by educating and training the next generation of health sciences professionals. Not only does Sheridan offer a dozen programs in Applied Health and Nursing, Sheridan also offers the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees. A mouthful, yes, but it's also a great way to develop the fundamental skills needed to ladder up into a more demanding program in the health field.

What is the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway at Sheridan?

The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway is an introduction to the health sciences for students who are interested in the field, but aren't sure which discipline is the right choice.

Pre-Health Sciences students will benefit from academic advising throughout the program, discovering a range of possible careers in the health sciences.

This certificate program takes two semesters to complete (equal to one academic year), and takes place in-person at Sheridan's Davis Campus in Brampton, Ontario. For international students, the program is PGWP-eligible.

When you complete the program, you can apply to transfer to a more advanced health sciences program at Sheridan or even transfer out to a partner university.
